Compose & send an email

Writing your first message takes a few seconds. Here's the whole flow — recipients, formatting, attachments, and send.

  1. Start a new message

Tap Compose (the new-message button). A blank message opens with fields for recipients, a subject, and the body.

  2. Add recipients

Type an address in To. Need more? Expand Cc (carbon copy — everyone sees it) or Bcc (blind copy — hidden from the other recipients). You can add several addresses to any field.

  3. Write the subject and body

Fill in a Subject, then write your message. The editor supports quick markdown-style formatting — type **bold**, *italic*, # heading, or - for a list and it formats as you go.

  4. Attach files

Tap the Attach files (paperclip) button to add documents, images, or any file. Each one shows as a chip you can remove before sending.

  5. Send

Press Send. Your message goes out and a copy lands in Sent. If you close the composer before sending, your draft is kept in Drafts so you can finish later.

Want it encrypted? To protect a message so only the recipient can read it — even on Gmail or Outlook — use a password-protected message instead of a normal send.
